Video Game Landscapes blanket club

***Note: this is a pre-order. Each month’s blanket club skeins will ship in the last week of the month. There is no one-off option for this club, signups close mid-January 2023. Please read the FAQ below.***

Choose from 4-ply, DK, Aran/worsted, or chunky/bulky weights. All weights will be dyed the same, the choice is just what you like working with most. 

2 skeins per month for a total of 24 skeins in a year, and a finished blanket (provided you don’t hide the skeins in your stash!). 

The image pictured is my inspiration for the 2023 blanket: video game landscapes through the decades! Some of the included games are visible in the image, some wouldn’t fit in the grid. Each shade will be a different game featured, adding up to 24 featured games both past and present, sent linearly and designed to flow one month into the next. These would work for almost any blanket pattern, knit or crochet (or weaving if that’s your jam). 

Finished blankets pictured are from previous years, all made by me with my own yarn. I have both knit and crocheted these clubs in the past, usually in chunky because I like how those blankets look and feel, but for the 2021 Galaxy club I used sparkle DK.

FAQ

Q: What fibre blend are these yarns?

A: Merino wool based yarn across all weights. The sparkle options have a bit of nylon and sparkle added.

Q: How much will I get?

A:

• 4-ply mini skeins: 80m per 20g skein (2 minis per month = 480g and 1920m completed)
• 4-ply 100g skeins: 400m per 100g skein (2 skeins per month = 1200g and 9600m completed)
• DK mini skeins: 45m per 20g skein (2 minis per month = 480g and 1080m completed)
• DK 100g skeins: 225m per 100g skein (2 skeins per month = 2400g and 5400m completed)
• Aran 100g skeins: 175m per 100g skein (2 skeins per month = 2400g and 4200m completed)
• Chunky 100g skeins: 90m per 100g skein (2 skeins per month = 2400g and 2160m completed)

Q: How do I pay? 

A: This website uses an auto-renew capability. Whatever day you signed up, you will renew on that day every month. For example, if you sign up on January 2nd, your next payment will automatically be taken from the same payment method on February 2nd and so on and so forth. If the payment doesn’t go through, the system automatically makes three more attempts before cancelling your subscription. To start it up again, email us at angie@GamerCrafting.com and we’ll sort it out for you. 

Q: What if I want to cancel? 

A: You can cancel at any time by logging into your account.

Q: Does a pattern come with this subscription? 

A: As crafters of many kinds participate in this subscription, we do not provide a pattern. In past years, Angie of GamerCrafting has used simple crochet ripple and circular blankets, and the Northeasterly pattern by Skeinanigans. In 2022, she will be using the Safe Space pattern by Skeinanigans. (Note: these links lead to Etsy for purchase.) 

Q: Is there a craft-a-long group?

A: We do not have a specific group for the blanket club, but you can join our growing Facebook group at this link. Be sure to answer all questions AND tick the box to agree to the group rules, or we can’t admit you!
